Student Council:

Attention CMS students! Want to make a difference at our school and be a voice for your peers? Join the CMS Student Council!

To run, make sure you have passing grades, good attendance, and can meet on Monday mornings. 

First, during lunch, pick up a student council nomination form. Then, return it to Mrs. Bower or Mrs. Riley.  Finally, submit your online application on Google Classroom by Monday, August 31st.  Voting will take place on Friday, September 4th. 

This is your chance to lead, inspire, serve, and make a difference!

Greetings! We had a great week at CMS! Our Volleyball team, boys soccer and football team all were winners this week. Congratulations! 

Next week is a special week in Charlestown commonly known as “Creek Week”. This is a celebration leading up to our high school football game vs. Silver Creek otherwise known as the “Battle of 403”. Our high school Pirates will take on the Dragons in one of our most anticipated rivalry games. In honor of this week and supporting our Pirates, CMS will also participate in the spirit themed days below:

Dear Pirate Family, 

Greetings! We had a great first two days of the 2026 school year. I would like to personally thank every single person who works at CMS. Preparing for back to school night, Pirate Preview, and the first day of school takes an enormous amount of time, preparation and energy. Every person at CMS gave 100% of themselves this week and I am so proud of them. 

We will continue reviewing procedures and safety drills with students this week.  We also will have our first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 5th at 5:00. We hope to see you there! 

 If you would like to audition for the CMS play THE ENCHANTED BOOKSHOP, you may get an audition form from either of the Mrs. Gnadingers, the office, or at lunch. The forms are due by the end of this week. Please give the forms to a Gnadinger, or the office.

Cross Country will be begin Monday, July 29th  right after school.   Meet Coach Traub in the hallway next to the gym.    Make sure you have your physicals on file.    Please have your ride here at 4:45 for pick-up.      Please contact Coach Traub for more information.

Dear Pirate Family,   

As of March 1st, 78  of our Charlestown families already shop at Jay C or Kroger. You can help CMS by linking your card to our school to receive Community Rewards! 

To Use the Kroger Community Rewards Program:

Simply visit http://www.kroger.com

Once logged in to your Kroger account, you can search for Charlestown Middle School either by name or JC992 and then click Enroll.

New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a rewards card.

*Customers must have a registered Kroger rewards card account to link to our school

*If a member does not yet have a Kroger rewards card, please let them know they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger

Participants must swipe their registered Kroger rewards card or use the phone number that is related to their registered Kroger rewards card when shopping for each purchase to count.

Thursday, July 30th First Student Day!  Doors open at 8:10  School Day begins 8:25

Car Riders

Car riders will be dropped off at arrival and released at dismissal from the back of the building at CMS. Only buses are allowed in the front entrance during arrival and dismissal.

Cars will enter from Quality Court in the industrial park behind the school. From Quality Court, turn right onto the access road next to the football field. Cars will then turn right into the parking lot and split into 2 lanes (blue arrows).  At the end of the parking lot there will be a white stop line where cars will feed back into one lane. We will have a staff member directing the flow back into one lane and follow the red line to drop students off along the sidewalk. Please pull all the way forward. Cars will then exit back on the access road towards Quality Court.

Eventlink – 

CMS will be utilizing EventLink for all of our scheduled school events.  This includes athletics, extra curricular activities, clubs, etc.  

1. Install EventLink app on your mobile device via iTunes or via Google Play Store or you can access EventLink on your computer
2. Open the app and click “add an account”
3. Select “Find My Schools” and search for Charlestown Middle School.
4. Select the school by clicking the school name; then select “Next” in upper right corner
5. Select “Next” again to receive Notifications and the Daily Summary
6. Create your User Name & Password, select time zone, complete ALL contact information by clicking on CONTACTS to enter the required fields; then click “Done”
7. Activate your account through the account activation email link (to receive email notifications) and/or text link (to receive text notifications)
8. Log back into EventLink and select “Manage Calendars”
9. Select the calendars of your choice (you will need to click the “+” sign next to the calendars you want to view.  
10. After EventLink refreshes, you can view the events.  – You are all set!
