Dear Pirate Family,
Greetings! Just a reminder that school will not be in session on Monday, January 19th in honor Martin Luther King Jr. This is a federal holiday in the United States observed on the third Monday of January each year.
School will be in session on Tuesday, January 20th. Please see below for events:
Tuesday January 20th
- 6, 7 & 8 Boys Basketball vs Highland Hills at CMS 5 PM
Wednesday January 21st
- ILEARN Makeup Testing
- 8th Grade 1st and 2nd periods
- 6th Grade 3rd and 4th periods
- 7th Grade 5th and 6th periods
- 7 & 8 Boys Basketball vs New Washington at CMS 6 PM (8th grade night)
Thursday January 22nd
Friday January 23rd –
- 6:00 – 8:00 Snowcoming Dance
Saturday January 24th
- 7 & 8 Girls Basketball at Corydon (MSC tournament) 11 AM & 12:30 PM
- 7 & 8 Boys Basketball at North Harrison (MSC tournament) 10 AM & 12:30 PM
- 6 Boys Basketball at Salem (MSC tournament) 10 AM
- Wrestling at Jeff 9 AM
📣 Snowcoming Dance Announcement 📣
Attention students! Our Snowcoming Dance will be held on Friday, January 23 from 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Wristbands for the dance will be sold starting Friday of this week for $5.00. You can grab your permission slip during lunch or from Mrs. Pedigo in room 122. Permission slips and money can be turned in to Mrs. Pedigo in the cafeteria before school. Wristbands will be distributed on the day of the dance during 6th period, so be sure to keep track of your purchase.
Concessions will be sold, and there will also be an opportunity to have your picture taken with friends for $3.00 each.
Don’t miss out on one of the most exciting events of the year—we hope to see you there! 🎉❄️
ATTENTION 8TH GRADE FAMILIES!
What: 8th grade Parent Night
When: Weds. Jan 28, 2026 5:00 – 6:15pm
Where: CHS Auditorium
Why: To share information about becoming a high school student and updated graduation requirements 😀
‼️ Middle School Softball Info ‼️
🥎 Starting January 26th indoor conditioning every Monday right after school (3:30-4:30pm). Meet by locker rooms.
🥎 Starting January 28th indoor workouts from 5:30-7pm every Wednesday at the high school indoor hitting facility.
🥎 Please have physical on file and completed final forms.
🥎 For Monday conditioning just wear athletic wear and tennis shoes.
🥎 For indoor hitting facility you must bring your own softball gear (bat, helmet, glove) and wear either tennis shoes or turfs. NO CLEATS ALLOWED INDOORS.
🥎 Tryouts will be held mid March with the exact date being announced at later date.
